Have you made the most of the ISA limits for this tax year?
20 March 2019
Since they were introduced in 1999, Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) have become one of the most popular ways to save. ISAs are exempt from income tax and capital gains tax on the investment returns, you also don’t pay any tax on the money withdrawn from your ISA.
Each year, your ISA allowance is reset. This means that you can invest up to a certain amount in your ISA every tax year, you cannot carry your ISA allowance over between tax years, so if you dont use it you will lose it.
The savings limit for a cash and/or stocks and shares ISA for the 2018/19 tax year is £20,000. For Junior ISAs the limit for the current tax year is £4,260.
In order to make the most of these available allowances you have until 5th April 2019, from 6th April 2019 we will be in the new tax year and the ability to use some or all of your available allowance will be gone.
Call us to see how we can help.

A review of 2018
16 January 2019
We began the year with a change of company name from Laver Financial to Laver Wealth, we believe this subtle change reflects the company we are today and going forward. Along with updating our literature we also refreshed our website which now includes our client portal, an area where we can deliver quarterly Reflex reports digitally.
2018 also saw the 10th Anniversary of Reflex our proactive investment management service, we are very proud of this achievement and look forward to working towards the 20th anniversary!
We faced a number of challenges, the main one being a change to our reporting method. New rules imposed on us by the MiFID II directive meant from January 2018 we are obliged to provide quarterly investment reports – instead of the half yearly ones we had previously been producing. The content and format of the reports also had to change which brought with it a number of issues which we are pleased to say have been met and overcome. However we continue to look at how the reports can be improved and any feedback is most welcome.
Our business is steadily expanding, last year saw an increase in the number of new clients we welcomed to Reflex. This being primarily due to the support from our fellow professionals and existing clients recommending our services to others, for which we are very appreciative, long may it continue!
Looking forward to 2019, we will continue to analyse and question how we work with our clients and fellow professionals and hope to enhance further the experience people have with us.
